MARKET DAY TOY FRESH FRENCH PRODUCE | VILAC

Bonjour from the French market. Vilac’s Jour de Marché Produits Frais — Market Day Fresh Produce — is a beautifully crafted wooden play food set packed with twelve pieces of the finest imaginary French fare, all nestled in a gingham-print carry box with a die-cut handle. The set is delightfully specific: two painted wooden fish (one teal, one golden yellow), a generous oval slice of ham with a pale yellow rind, a plump mustard-yellow sausage log with red string ties, a smooth wooden egg, a printed “Lait 1 Litre” milk carton, a round Camembert-style cheese beautifully covered in soft white fabric and housed in a low tray, and a wedge of pale yellow Comté hard cheese.

It’s the kind of set that makes a child want to set up a market stall immediately — arranging, sorting, selling and restocking with absolute authority. From Vilac, the celebrated French wooden toy maker, and made to the high safety standards required for children aged 3 and over. A wonderful birthday gift or imaginative play set. By Vilac.
