DOG COLOUR RECOGNITION PUZZLE | VILAC X ANDY WESTFACE

One very long, very colourful sausage dog. The Vilac x Andy Westface Dog Colour Recognition Puzzle is a collaboration between celebrated French wooden toy maker Vilac and illustrator Andy Westface — and the result is one of those rare puzzles that looks as beautiful on a shelf as it does mid-play.

A dachshund silhouette spans a warm beige polka-dot board: a brown wooden head with sleepy closed eyes to the left, a brown rump and curled tail to the right, and in between, eight chunky interlocking wooden body pieces in a full rainbow sequence — red, orange, yellow, green, teal, turquoise, blue and dark navy — each with tab-and-socket connectors that a one-year-old can manage with a little guidance. When the pieces come out, coloured dot markers printed inside each section of the board give a gentle clue to where each colour belongs, making this a genuine colour-matching activity rather than shape-matching alone.
