Train 4-Piece Puzzle | Lanka Kade

A beautifully chunky wooden train puzzle from Lanka Kade — four interlocking pieces that slot together to build a classic steam locomotive and stand freestanding when assembled. No numbers, no counting — this is a pure shape puzzle, all about form recognition and the satisfying click of piece into place. The locomotive is rendered in a bold two-tone blue: the rounded boiler and chimney stack in deep cobalt blue, and the cab sections in bright sky blue, capturing the classic distinction between boiler and cab that makes a steam engine instantly recognisable. The undercarriage piece brings it all to life with two large red wheels and a yellow footplate bar running between them — a vivid pop of warm colour against the cool blues.

One of the nicest details is the open rectangular cab window cut out of piece 2, creating a real negative space that children can look through — a simple but perfectly considered touch. At 94mm tall and 120mm wide it’s compact, chunky and sturdy enough to be used as a toy as much as a puzzle. Made from MDF. Suitable from 10 months.

Handcrafted by skilled artisans in fair trade workshops. By Lanka Kade.
