String up the season. Rachel Ellen Designs’ Merry & Bright Make Your Own Paper Chains are a classic Christmas activity with a beautifully illustrated twist. Four designs — dark green with large white polka dots, white with geometric dark green Christmas trees (with one surprise red tree hiding in the pattern), pale pink with trailing green mistletoe sprigs and white berries, and bold red and white diagonal candy stripes — link together into a cheerful, colourful garland that looks every bit as good as it was to make.

Each strip has a self-locking tab-and-slot mechanism, so no glue, scissors or sticky fingers are needed. Children can assemble the full chain themselves, making this just as much an activity as a decoration. Each pack contains 100 strips — 25 of each design — and makes approximately 6 metres of linked garland. For a longer run, two packs link seamlessly together for around 12 metres.
