This beautifully handknitted sleeveless gilet is made with care and attention to detail right here in Kent, in the most wonderfully complex heathered mauve yarn: a rich multi-tonal marled mix of soft grey, dusty mauve/lilac, warm taupe and pale blue-grey tones twisted together. The colour shifts and pools organically across the fabric, looking different in every light — premium, handcrafted and quietly beautiful.

The star of the show is the daisy. A large, fully three-dimensional loopy/turkey-stitch crocheted daisy is appliquéd to the left front panel — thick, sculptural white petals radiating from a raised, textural bright yellow centre that is almost pompom-like in its depth. It sits proud of the fabric surface and is genuinely showstopping at this size relative to the garment. Simple, joyful and completely irresistible.

Four dark brown/tortoiseshell round buttons fasten the V-neck front opening — warm, earthy and perfectly chosen against the mauve. Neat edge finishing on the armholes, reverse stocking stitch button bands and a ribbed hem complete this wonderfully considered design.
