Heritage Collection Flying Scotsman Wooden Train | Bigjigs Rail
One of the world's most beloved locomotives, the Flying Scotsman was built in 1923 at a cost of £7,944 — over £491,000 in today's money. It was the first locomotive to officially reach 100mph and has travelled the world, captivating railway enthusiasts for over a century. This wooden replica is officially licensed from the National Railway Museum and captures the Scotsman in its famous LNER apple green livery, complete with number 4472 and the NRM roundel on the boiler.
The iconic apple green paintwork is faithfully reproduced with white boiler bands and black running gear — even the matching LNER tender carriage is finished in the same distinctive green with yellow LNER lettering. A wonderful, realistic addition to any wooden train set and a conversation piece in its own right.
Magnetic couplings ensure compatibility with all other Bigjigs Rail engines and carriages, and most other major wooden railway brands. Made from high quality, FSC® certified sustainably sourced wood. Conforms to current European safety standards.
