A magnificent wooden replica of one of Britain’s most celebrated steam locomotives. The Duchess of Hamilton (LMS Princess Coronation Class No. 6229) was built in 1938 at Crewe by the London Midland & Scottish Railway at a cost of £11,302, and served until February 1964. She is now preserved at the National Railway Museum in York, and this replica is officially licensed from the NRM.

Beautifully crafted in the iconic crimson red LMS streamlined livery, the locomotive body carries gold Art Deco speed stripes running its full length, with ‘Duchess of Hamilton’ and ‘6229’ printed on the side. The matching tender is red with ‘L M S’ in gold lettering and a yellow and black coal load printed on top. Black rubber wheels with silver metal axle hubs roll smoothly on any Bigjigs Rail track, and magnetic couplings front and rear ensure easy connection to other engines and carriages in the range.
