Elephant & Baby Puzzle | Lanka Kade

One of Lanka Kade’s most endearing puzzles — four chunky interlocking pieces that build a mother elephant and her calf. The large green adult elephant forms three pieces, and tucked into the negative space beneath her belly is a single yellow baby elephant piece that slots in snugly between her front and rear legs. The puzzle mechanic is wonderfully intuitive: children discover that the baby fits inside the mother, protected and nestled. Once assembled, the whole thing stands freestanding — a beautiful little object to leave on a shelf.

No numbers, no counting — this is a pure shape puzzle focused on problem-solving, hand-eye coordination and the deeply satisfying click of the right piece in the right place. The adult elephant has a cheerful smiling face, a white tusk and a gently hanging trunk; the baby has its own sweet simplified face in bright yellow.
