Classic World’s Wooden Dinosaur Ramp Racer is one of the most satisfying cause-and-effect toys going — three staggered cascading ramps zigzag from top to bottom inside a beautifully illustrated wooden dinosaur scene, sending the included roller discs tumbling from level to level in a wonderfully repeatable loop that toddlers will want to run again and again and again.

The structure is gorgeous. A large pale mint/seafoam green dinosaur silhouette with an orange crest and yellow dorsal spines forms the left side panel; a tall illustrated cactus in vivid green with a yellow flower top forms the right; a coconut palm sits in the centre. Three ramps — pale blue at the top, lime green in the middle, peach/orange at the bottom — cascade in a zigzag between them. The whole scene sits on a soft sage green base decorated with tropical leaves, yellow flowers and painted pebbles. It is, frankly, a very beautiful toy.

Three flat wooden roller discs are included — each one uniquely illustrated: a purple and yellow spotted dinosaur egg, an orange volcano scene and a pale blue pinwheel design. Place a roller at the top, give it a nudge and watch it travel all the way down through each level to the base, where it can be collected and launched again. Straightforward, endlessly repeatable and exactly right for developing hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and an understanding of cause and effect.
