A beautifully made wooden number puzzle from Lanka Kade that teaches counting from 1 to 10 through the most satisfying of mechanisms: ten interlocking jigsaw pieces that slot together to build a walking cat. Each piece is painted a different colour of the rainbow — from orange-red at the head through purple, blue, teal, green, yellow and all the way to rich dark brown at the tail — so children get a double learning prompt: the number printed in white on each piece, and the visual rainbow sequence running head to tail as a natural ordering guide.

The cat itself is wonderfully characterful, with a detailed painted face — black nose, white whiskers, expressive eye — and all four legs formed across the pieces in a prowling walking pose. The pieces are a generous 25mm thick, making them easy for small hands to grip and slot together. Dimensions: 228mm W × 117mm H × 25mm D.
